Proactive use of PTZ traffic cameras in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Effective incident detection is key to keeping highways safe, critical infrastructures secure, and traffic flow fluid. The SMART SunGuide TMC in Fort Lauderdale is the perfect showcase for the benefits of this technology. The project is innovative because it uses existing PTZ traffic cameras to perform Automatic Incident Detection and also because the system uses digital video input instead of the traditional analog video.
