NEWS & EVENTS

Citilog’s VisioPaD Part of Big AID System Expansion in Florida
Citilog’s VisioPaD™ product will be part of an estimated 166 camera expansion with Florida’s Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four.  Once completed, it will be the largest deployment of VisioPaD worldwide.  The new deployment aims to significantly expand traffic monitoring capabilities along Interstates 95, 595 and 75 in Broward County.  VisioPaD will enable automatic and real time traffic monitoring and incident detection for each new camera deployed.  Read more.

Citilog’s AID, Traffic Data and Urban Traffic Management Software Version 6 Now Available
Citilog’s new AID software version 6 features key performance gains across all Citilog software suites for traffic and security related incident detection and monitoring of bridges, tunnels, roadways, highways and intersections.  The Graphical User Interface is totally revamped to facilitate operations and maintenance of the Citilog system. In particular, VisioPaD™, MediaRoad™ and MediaTunnel™ from Citilog realize a better ratio of detection against false alarms to improve traffic operations center incident responses and performance.  Video quality and security management is enhanced as well with new features.  Video clips, live streams and permanent recordings are available in H.264 encoding format, from 1fps to 25-30fps, either in PAL or NTSC format.  The new supervision GUI takes into account a lot of feedback gathered from our partners over the years. It features a full database-oriented GUI, user and role definition and management. Maintenance tools such as visualization measures, backups or log-file management allow having a throughout understanding of the state of the system, ensuring performances remain constant during the lifespan of the system.  Integration has been strengthened by adding to the list of supported IP cameras or coders. Version 6 is able to take advantage of dual-stream hardware. Please contact Citilog for a list of supported hardware. Read more

Paris Event
On February 5th, 2009 Citilog organized a seminar to showcase ITS technologies in general and Citilog solutions in particular. Held in Versailles, the seminar gathered a broad sample of French highway agencies such as Cofiroute, Escota, Sanef, APRR, SAPN, ASF, the City of Paris and consulting firms. The seminar revolved around 3 main themes: Citilog's new 6.0 software release, Citilog's new Xcam line of products and the increasingly popular theme of "green roads."

After an introduction by Christian Girardeau, CEO of Citilog, Eric Toffin, Marketing and VP North America for Citilog, introduced the Citilog range of product with an emphasis of Citilog's latest offer in hazardous material tracking in tunnels. Citilog's new 6.0 software release was introduced by Manuel Guardiola, product manager and Martial Forthoffer, head of software development. Enhanced performances and the new GUI received favorable feedback from the audience. Jerome Douret, R&D for Citilog, showcased the Xcam new family of products.  Xcam paves the road to low-cost and easy deployment of video incident detection on highways and expressways, particularly in areas where communications and energy are an issue but also in areas where additional low-cost sensors are needed to increase or add density to video coverage.  Erwan Michel, Business Development France for Citilog, co-introduced an innovative concept with Philippe Barbe, Id+, a technology partner of Citilog. This concept is an Intelligent Mobile Queue Warning System deployed at APRR.

The closing remarks were addressed by Mr. Guy Bourgeois of INRETS*. Mr. Bourgeois articulated on the theme of green roads and how future and current ITS products and solutions can contribute to environmentally friendly projects in reducing emissions and enhancing road safety. He stressed the commitment of the French Government in the area of sustainable growth following the “Grenelle de l’environnement”.

FEATURED PRODUCT ADVANTAGE

Improve Traffic Data Collection Measurements and Results with MediaTD
Citilog’s MediaTD™ gives Traffic Operations Centers the ability to realize many significant advantages delivered by this video-based traffic data collection solution.  Video detection is often less costly to install and maintain than inductive loop detectors which require roadwork.  MediaTD™’s video detection is flexible and adaptable to changing conditions on roadways that include lane reassignments, temporary lane closures or work zone activities. One video input can cover up to four lanes of traffic and the number of detection zones per camera is unlimited. With MediaTD™, the volume of all vehicles on the roadway can be accounted for to provide comprehensive traffic data collection. Other measurable variables include speed (per lane average speed), occupancy (amount of time a detection zone is occupied by a vehicle), and headway (time between the front of two consecutive vehicles), all with one camera on four lanes. MediaTD™ is a cost-effective solution to rapidly migrate from traditional traffic data collection means to an advanced video-based traffic data collection technology to better study, plan and develop solutions for traffic concerns.  Finally, to further improve infrastructure ROI, MediaTD™ can be combined with other Citilog products to design full infrastructure surveillance solutions that improve mobility, security and safety across roadways, bridges and tunnels.  Read more

SOLUTIONS FOR YOU

Citilog has developed an Intelligent Mobile Queue Warning System.  It is ideal to deploy at temporary congestion sites such as work zones or special events where traffic congestion is caused by a limitation of lane access.  The system consists of mobile CCTV cameras with wireless transmission capabilities (up to 10 km EDGE / GPRS); solar panels to enable “green” operations and limitless deployment options; a cabinet to house power-storing batteries and the video detection unit; and warning signs mounted on trailers for easy transportation.  The camera, solar panels and cabinet are mounted to a trailer as well and are fully collapsible for simple garage storage.

Citilog’s Intelligent Mobile Queue Warning System provides advanced video detection of traffic congestion and warning sign message deployment capabilities with complete communications back to the traffic management center.  With this solution traffic / operations management centers can more easily conduct traffic incident detections, enforce special conditions such as speed limits or no-passing zones and warning alerts to both drivers and workers.  Transportation departments can also have the option to make the queue warning system a permanent installation at the site or pack it up to be used at a future location.
